Snowy & Snowy II

Snowy had avocado pits for eyes,
a cherry smile and buttons
with a long carrot nose

for which I was frightened
the birds would find.

I hugged my creation
before I destroyed him.
Spared him a slow melting death.

Mom was furious,
so I created again.

For Snowy II
I used the old body parts
but gave him a hat.

Now he's facing a tragic fate:
soft warm rain.

I hope Mom's happy.

Sassy cat, not quite
orange, more the color of whisky,
purrs when I scratch her from
head to tail.  She
is a spoiled princess
even though she was a stray.

A succulent crimson berry
I place upon my tongue,

"crunch".

A burst of sweet tartness
detonates in my mouth,

dribbles

down my chin, stains my white shirt.
Mom's not going to be

happy.

Oh well, I've nothing to lose,
and you only live once.

"Sploosh"!
